13 Aug The easiest meatballs
Welcome back to Sandtondiet and to the recipe for the easiest meatballs you will ever make. This recipe came about from one of those frantic afternoons where I hadn’t even thought about supper and needed to think of something quick and easy to make. These meatballs were just the solution!
So I have to admit, this isn’t the first time that we have made this recipe. I was really dying to find out if it is possible to make meatballs without breadcrumbs or eggs. So we tried it a while ago and it really works well. We just seasoned the mince as per the recipe below and voila, perfect meatballs that were ridiculously easy to make. They are so easy in fact that my child made these yesterday from scratch. Because they have no other ingredients in them, other than spices, this recipe is suitable for a very wide variety of dietary preferences.
The recipe below says to cook the meatballs for 20 minutes but this really will depend on the size of your meatballs. Often ovens vary quite a bit so this may also change the cooking time a bit. You will see that the meatballs are cooked when they go a darker brown colour on the outside and then you know they are ready to turn. When the other side of the meatballs have also gone a darker brown colour then you know that the meatballs are ready to come out the oven.
So now you know how to make the easiest meatballs in the world! They are also really versatile and can be served in so many different ways and with so many different side dishes. Yesterday we had then with oven chips that were cooked in the airfryer. One of my other favourite accompaniments for these meatballs are sweet potato chips which are also cooked in the airfryer.
I have another really yummy meatball recipe that you just have to try. This Healthy and quick baked Italian meatballs recipe is also really versatile and has a lovely Italian flavour. If you are looking for a vegetarian meatball recipe then this quick and easy vegetarian meatballs recipe is truly divine.
This recipe from the Kitchn ( https://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-make-meatballs-cooking-lessons-from-the-kitchn-108048) is a bit more ‘complicated’ than my meatball recipe but really looks delicious. Jamie Oliver also has a really nice take on his meatballs ( https://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/meatballs-and-pasta/ ). So as you can see there are many ways to prepare a simple meatball, each with their own flavour and unique spin!
I hope that you enjoy this week’s recipe. I would love to see photos of your cooked meatballs. Until next time, Leanne xoxo
